Teachers will be present on excursions to help students practice and use what they have learned in class. Classes are geared toward the activity or outing that will be taking place that afternoon.
Atapuerca is one of Burgos’ world heritage sites and a world reference of prehistory.
You can visit Atapuerca and immerse yourself in archaeological deposits that are in full operation.
Every summer the excavation of one of the world’s most important archaeological deposits resumes with live recreations of prehistoric times.
In the ‘Paleolithic Safari’ participants will have the chance to live and experience what is considered to be the most unique aspects of prehistory among the scenery and fauna experienced by our ancestors. Relive the day to day life of the prehistoric inhabitants while learning about their hunting techniques and way of life.
Activities include : paddle ball, tennis, swimming, rock climbing, hiking. The town Hall of Burgos will help to provide sport activities and facilities.
THE CATHEDRAL OF BURGOS
Another World Heritage Site, the Cathedral of Burgos has just celebrated its 800th anniversary. An authentic, grand spectacle, that together with the old medieval area of the city with its infinite historical treasures and streets filled with terraces, provides a magical ambiance for the bars and tasty tapas.
We will visit it inside and out with explanations adapted to the group.

Another monumental wonder in Burgos. This monastery was founded in 1187. It is the primary female cisternian monastery. When it was not a battleground, it was here that knights were dubbed and kings were
crowned and buried.

The origins of the City of Burgos are found at the Castle located on the top of a hill. In the year 884, the count Diego Porcelos founded the city. This emplacement was a surveillance point during the Reconquest.

IR DE TAPAS
One of the main features of Spanish gastronomy is what is known as “el tapeo”
Tapas are small quantities of food that are served in bars to go with a drink.
In Spain it is very typical to go out for tapas so much so that it has become a verb: tapear.
Going de tapeo is a tradition that consists of hanging out with a group of friends and going from one bar to the next snacking and choosing the next tapa for your wine or beer.
TERRACEO
«Terraceo» means going out to terraces of bars to eat and drink in company, generally in a festive spirit and taking advantage of the good weather. As soon as June arrives, “terraceo” begins. Businesses cling to the “terraceo” to get ahead. It is colloquial language.
